In its continued push to expand its presence throughout South East Asia, Global Green International (GGI) has signed a formal partnership agreement with SMCS RISK.
The partnership, Green Energy Investments Mekong (GEI Mekong) will focus on building renewable energy projects in the Mekong countries, with a primary focus on building waste-to-energy plants in Cambodia, where improving waste issues and electricity shortages are a development goal for the Cambodian Government.
Cambodia is rapidly developing, driven by increased investment and increased tourist numbers visiting to the country. But a higher demand for electricity and need to dispose of large amounts of waste is becoming problematic for the Cambodian Government.
GGI’s waste to energy plants are the perfect solution for Cambodia; providing a green energy solution to areas of Cambodia where electricity supply is intermittent and waste is dumped into landfill sites. GGI also owns the world-wide rights to mini hydro, plasma, solar and sewerage sludge technology that would be of great benefit to developing countries in the Mekong area.
SMCS GROUP’s Risk Management, Training & Safety Solutions company SMCS RISK has been operating in Cambodia since 2006 and will provide risk management & business solutions expertise to GGI as well as supervise GEI’s waste projects in Cambodia with feasibility study’s being conducted initially to identify provincial areas that have waste and energy issues.
