SM Consulting services was started in Phnom Penh, Cambodia by Steve Morrish, the Founder of SMCS GROUP. Steve started the business in the bedroom of his apartment, operating as a one-man corporate investigation consultancy.
SM Consulting Services changes the company name to SM Services Group and includes Brand protection, Risk Management and anti-counterfeit services in Cambodia.
SM Services Group expands it’s operation area to include Vietnam and Laos with a key focus on providing anti-counterfeit and brand protection services for a key client, AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals.
SMCS Services Group announces that it had secured a $150,000 usd USAID funded project to create the first ever theoretical and practical based criminal investigation training course for Cambodia National Police investigating human trafficking and exploitation crimes against women & children. The project trains over 600 Police including the first groups of Cambodia Police Women.
SMCS enters into a joint venture partnership with renewable energy company Global Green International Investments (GGII) and announces that the company had expanded its business into waste-to-energy. The new joint venture company, called Green Energy Investments (GEI) MEKONG secures the rights to use GGII patented Pyrolysis Technology.
SMCS GROUP announces that its renewable energy company, GEI MEKONG, will focus on Cambodia as its priority country to build waste-to-energy facilities. Cambodia produces in excess of 1 million tonnes of waste each year with all waste ending up in landfill.
SMCS GROUP announces that it’s growing its business portfolio and including safety product distribution. SMCS SAFETY is created in Cambodia.
SMCS relocates its head office to Melbourne, Australia. SMCS GROUP INVESTMENTS Pty Ltd is incorporated and becomes the parents company for the SMCS Brand.
SMCS GROUP secures the exclusive rights to represent SOLV Technologies in Australia and new Zealand. The new business expands SMCS GROUP’s portfolio into Information Technology.
SMCS GROUP announces a new waste-to-energy project in Vientiane, Laos. The project, valued at $60 million usd, will look to build a 4 line Twin Chamber hybrid facility, processing over 300 tonnes of waste per day and producing electricity and bio-diesel for the local market.
SMCS GROUP announces the expansion of its safety product distribution business. SMCS SAFETY is created as a trading name in Australia.
