GEI MEKONG has submitted a proposal to the Cambodian Government to manage industrial waste in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
GEI MEKONG, a waste-to-energy company in which SMCS GROUP is a 20% shareholder, announced on the 24th February that it was undertaking a feasibility study to determine if it was viable to build a waste-to-energy facility at an existing landfill site in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
After completing the feasibility study, GEI MEKONG determined that approximately 150 tons per day of industrial waste produced by factories at the Industrial Park, was suitable feedstock to support 3 hybrid pyrolysis waste-to-energy lines.
GEI MEKONG also determined that industrial waste that has been dumped into the current landfill site over the past 20 years, can be processed through the waste-to-energy facility.
A proposal to build a waste-to-energy facility with an initial 3 hybrid lines, has been sent to the Cambodia Ministry of Environment for consideration. If granted, the waste-to-energy facility will be able to produce 6 MW’s of electricity and up to 45,000 litres of synthetic diesel per day.
